Stucco and manufactured stone have been used in the building industry for ages. Without the right protection, however, uncontrolled moisture will lead to mold, wall rot, and decay, and eventually have an impact on both the aesthetics and structural integrity of homes.
To improve education across the building industry, Dörken Systems Inc., manufacturer of high-performance air and moisture barriers for both commercial and residential construction, has teamed up with Ai Restoration, an experienced remediation company, to educate building professionals in southeastern Pennsylvania on the dangers of improper stucco and manufactured stone cladding installation.
When stucco and manufactured stone buildings are built correctly, they can provide many benefits, including energy efficiency, sustainability, durability, and increased fire protection. Dörken Systems and Ai Restoration, along with industry and building science experts, invite building professionals to the Greater Philadelphia Stucco Remediation Forum focused on building science, best building practices, and the right solutions to protect stucco and manufactured stone buildings from incidental moisture.

Contrary to popular belief, “100-Year Flood” does not refer to a flood that happens every century. Rather, the term describes the statistical chance that a flood of a certain magnitude will occur over a 24-hour period, in a certain area, once in 100 years.
Home Inspectors look at the home in general terms evaluating conditions that may cause the house to be unsafe, function improperly, or have major mechanical issues. A structural inspection often takes place after the home inspector submits their recommendations and points out possible structural issues that the homeowner should take a closer look at. A licensed engineer is the only professional that can provide an opinion on the structural integrity of a home.
